OBAMA CHAMPIONS “CULTURE OF DEATH”

Catholic League News Release

OBAMA CHAMPIONS “CULTURE OF DEATH”

In last night’s debate between Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton, MSNBC moderator Tim Russert asked both presidential candidates whether there was “any word or vote that you’d like to take back” in your “careers in public service.” Senator Obama cited his role in a unanimous decision by the U.S. Senate regarding the Terry Schiavo case. He said it was “a mistake” for the Congress “to interject itself into that decision-making process of the families” to settle her fate.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue addressed this issue today:

“So now we know that Obama thinks it was a mistake—the biggest mistake he’s ever made in public life—to allow Schiavo’s parents the right to petition a federal court over the withdrawal of food and medical services necessary to save her life. Never mind that the vote was merely procedural: it simply allowed the patient’s parents the right to ask for federal review, never guaranteeing a particular outcome. Moreover, the bill was case specific—it had no bearing on any case other than Schiavo’s, and it explicitly said that ‘nothing in this Act shall constitute a precedent with respect to future legislation.’ Yet Obama now says his vote ‘was not something I was comfortable with, but it was not something that I stood on the floor and stopped.’ How revealing. They Made it without the GOvernment’s Help…

Posted by michiganredneck on February 27, 2008

…why can’t we?   In another stellar article from Glenn Beck, he talks about libs who want the government to “help” everyone.  Yet the government never helped them.

  • Big gov libs–who made it without government help

  • Audio Available:
  • February 26, 2008 - 12:53 ET
  • Glenn is seen here on the Glenn Beck webcam, an exclusive feature available only for Insiders
  • GLENN: All of these people, Michelle Obama, she was whining on television the other day that, “I’m 40. I’m in my 40s and we’re just now paying off our student loans. That’s just not right.” You went to Princeton and Harvard! (Sobbing). Let me cry you a river. You went to Princeton and Harvard! I mean, you would have your state college paid out, you know, it would be all done by now. You would have, you know, New Haven state — what is it? Greater New Haven State Technical College, you wanted to go to beauty school, it would be covered by now. You went to Princeton and Harvard! Oh, my goodness, what a cross you’ve had to bear.

Oh yes, poor Michelle.  This would have been during the time in which she was not proud of her country.  GAG!

  • Hillary Clinton, “I just can’t make it.” John Edwards, “I’m the son of a mail worker. Why? Why are there children without faces now? Why don’t we care?” We do care! You show me a kid without a face, I’m going to go help raise faces for him, okay? I don’t think the government should be in the business of making faces for children. I’ll go and help raise faces. I’ll have a telethon or radiothon or fundraiser. I’ll go door to door for children. “Hi, my name’s Glenn Beck and I just found out about little Sally Muckenfutch without a face and I’m raising spare faces. Do you have a spare face that you’d like to…” I’ll just go to politicians’ houses. I know you’ve got an extra face!

LOL, Funny stuff.  Glenn goes on to talk about some “liberal success stories.”

  • VOICE: And now another moment in Progressive history.
  • GLENN: Born the son of a textile millworker, his father and his mother, his mother worked as a postal letter carrier. After being a star athlete in high school, he’s the first person in his family to ever attend college. He studied hard and graduated with high honors…
  • …He later became a senator and even ran for President. Senator John Edwards is yet another liberal self-made true American success story. How many times did the Government step in and save the day for the Edwards family? Exactly zero.
  • VOICE: And now another moment in Progressive history.
  • GLENN: He never knew his father. Just three months before his birth, the traveling salesman dad was killed in a car accident. His mom decided she needed to get an education. So she left the young baby with her parents. She went off to pursue a nursing degree…
  • …He became a big, big reader. He was very active as a student leader in high school. He was also a musician. He nearly chose the life of a musician but decided instead to pursue his education. Because of his hard work and success in school, he was awarded scholarships to attend college, for his family couldn’t afford it on their own. After graduating, he worked as an intern for a United States senator who was also a Rhodes scholar and helped him become a Rhodes scholar. He studied at Oxford University. He later got a law degree from Yale…
  • …William Jefferson Clinton overcame all of the odds and became the President of the United States. Gee, another American success story with the government stepping in to help William Jefferson Clinton exactly how many times? Zero!
  • VOICE: And now another moment in Progressive history.
  • GLENN: Born in the Midwest, the son of a secretary and an automotive assembly line worker, he and his family didn’t have much but he was active in a student newspaper in the drama club. After high school he went on to college. It lasted a couple of years before dropping out and going to work at one of the automotive plants his dad used to work at…
  • …Eventually he quit working at the automotive plant altogether and was hired as an editor of a political magazine. Well, let’s just say he had a few philosophical differences on a few issues with this magazine and he was fired from the job as an editor, but he did the John Edwards thing and he went to court. He contested his firing, eventually settled out of court for $58,000. He used that seed money to create a movie, his first feature film…

Isn’t that always like a lib?  Someone fires ya from a job, sue them.

  • …But Michael Moore will tell you you can’t do it. The Progressive movement has to teach you that you can’t do it, that capitalism is evil, that corporations are evil. They will tell you also that the government is all screwed up but they can make it bigger, especially really wonderful if they combine that bigger government with nationalized industry. If they could just take over business through government, why, then, we would all have an opportunity to make it. No thanks. I like it the way it is, based on my hard work. [more here]

First off, I want to say that agree or disagree, these people had great rags to riches stories.  I am proud of them.  But I gotta say, considering that they were able to lift themselves up without government help.  Yet they want the government to help us.  It’s like they think they are smart enough to do it on their own, but the rest of us are too stoopid.

IRS Investigates Obama’s Denomination

IRS Investigates Obama’s Denomination

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 8:00 PM

The IRS is investigating the United Church of Christ over a speech Barack Obama gave to its national meeting last year after he became a candidate for president.

Obama is a member of the church.

A spokesman for the denomination says it received notice of the inquiry on Monday.

The IRS says there is reason to believe the speech violated restrictions on political activity for nonprofit groups. The denomination denies any wrongdoing.

Church officials say they had consulted with lawyers before the Democrat’s June 2007 speech and made clear before Obama’s address that he was speaking as a church member, not a political candidate. [source]

Court: Man put abortion pills in lover’s yogurt

Posted by michiganredneck on February 27, 2008

Listen to what this stupid jerkoff in Sweden did.

  • updated 6:58 p.m. ET, Tues., Feb. 26, 2008
  • STOCKHOLM, Sweden - A Swedish court of appeal on Tuesday sentenced a 27-year-old man to 18 months in prison for trying to make his girlfriend miscarry by mixing abortion pills in her food.

Oh that is so not long enough of a sentence.

  • The man, who was not named for legal reasons, had his jail term increased from a previous one-year sentence set by a district court in June.

He should be named, so that every woman knows who he is, and knows not to ever date him.  I say plaster his face on every paper in Sweden and in every pro-life publication in the world.

  • The court documents said the woman had decided to have the baby even though he felt he was not ready to be a father. The man ordered some pills on the Internet and fooled his doctor into prescribing others for another condition.

Oh boo-hoo, I am crying for this jerkoff.  He wasn’t ready to be a father, but he sure was ready, willing and able to be sperm donor by taking off his pants.

  •  The defendant’s lawyer, Lars Boberg, said his client would most likely appeal the ruling. [more here]

He has no right to appeal.  I can predict one thing, if Swedish women are anything like American women.  There will be dumb chicky-poos who will come out of the wordwork and write to him in prison, tell him they love him and want to marry him.  These women will write that his ex-girlfriend is a this and that.  They will tell the media the same thing.  It’s all her fault ya know.  She didn’t understand him they way they can.  Hey, after all, any man is better than being an old maid (severe sarcasm included).

I bet ya’ll are wondering what I think his punishment should be?  Nothing too severe.  Just merely hang him by his balls.  Not ’til he dies or anything like that.  Just a little while, then put him in prison for the rest of his life.

Electric Light Orchestra - Hold on Tight

Posted by michiganredneck on February 27, 2008

I am a very emotional person. That is probably why I absolutely love Rockabilly music.  Over at the original Michigan Redneck I used to post a lot about my love of Rockabilly music, along with other types of music.  I wanted to post this great vid from ELO called “Hold on Tight.”  When I am down, this is a great pick-me-up song.  Granted, ELO is considered more of Classic Rock than Rockabilly, but this song has that unmistakable Rockabilly sound.  In fact, the first time I heard the song it was on a recent Honda commercial.  When I heard that song, I thought for sure that it was sung by someone like Gene Vincent or Eddie Cochran, back in the fifties.  Imagine my surprise when I found out it was from the eighties.
Why do I like Rockabilly music, you might ask?  It has got that to your gut kinda feeling.  It is always jumpy and full of energy.  Sometimes it is very peppy or sometimes it can be melancholy.  Either way, Rockabilly is more than a sound, it is a feeling.  A feeling that artists nowadays can never duplicate.  Unless of course it is Brian Setzer.  Back in the day, someone like Elvis could make their guitar cry, whether it be for joy or sorrow.  No sirry, there was no happy medium on the emotional spectrum for Rockabilly music.

Mitt Romney Might Run Again…

Posted by michiganredneck on February 27, 2008

…in ‘08!  This is great news!   Check out this article in newsmax.com.

  • Romney Might Run Again in 08

  • Tuesday, February 26, 2008 10:44 AM
  • By: Newsmax staff
  • Mitt Romney is down, but he might not be out.
  • Romney suspended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination after a disappointing showing on Super Tuesday, and has endorsed John McCain for the GOP nod.
  • But Romney’s son Josh says it’s “possible” his father might rejoin the race as a candidate for vice president or for president if McCain’s campaign stalls.
  • Because he suspended his campaign rather than terminating it, Romney still controls nearly 300 delegates he won in early primaries and caucuses.
  • Asked if Mitt Romney might rejoin the race, Josh said it is “unlikely, but possible.” [more here]

Emphasis mine.  Two things.  This article is some good news and some bad news.  Ya gotta realize that at this point Mitt still has more delegates than Mr. “I am staying in the race to the end, Huckabee.”  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that Mitt has probably upset many people by suspending his campaign.  And these people could be upset even more if he gets back in the race.  Let’s say Mitt does get back in the race and it goes to brokered convention.  Mitt wins the nomination. How are said people going to vote in the general election?  Are they going to “forgive” him and put aside their differences and realize that whatever happened they gotta stand up against Hill or Bar?  Even if they didn’t get to vote for Mitt in their states primary?

Authorities suspect European ring selling counterfeit Bulgarian passports for $10K

WASHINGTON – Two more Iraqis with false Bulgarian passports were detained by Mexican officials in Monterrey – bringing the total to four this month.Wisam Gorgies, a 34-year-old man, and Rana Nazar Peyoz, a 26-year-old woman, reportedly flew from Madrid and landed in Monterrey, according to reports in two Mexican newspapers today.

Following questioning, the pair admitted they intended to reach the United States. They were taken to Saltillo in the state of Coahuila, for final determination of their status.

Mexican officials said the are investigating “a network that could be made up of Mexicans operating in Greece who are selling false Bulgarian passports for $10,000 to European and Middle Eastern citizens.”

Earlier this month, El Universal, a daily in Mexico City, reported two other Iraqis, Markos Ramy, a 25-year-old man, and Sollem Pate, a 20-year-old woman, presented Bulgarian passports upon arrival at the Monterrey airport after a flight from Spain.

They told customs officials they came as tourists for a couple days. But because they spoke no Bulgarian, their passports were determined to be fraudulent. The Bulgarian consulate did not acknowledge them as citizens and their hotel reservations proved to be phony.

Only after their cover story was blown did the couple admit to being Iraqis. They claimed to be fleeing the war. [more here]

Glenn Beck Talks about Relationships

Posted by michiganredneck on February 26, 2008

This article from Glenn Beck got me thinking about something I know diddly about, but am very opinionated about.  That is relationships.

Quite possibly our favorite show of the year-the “Couple of the Year” presentation. Listen back to some of our best moments from these classic shows - available as a CD or download it instantly in MP3 format.
  • GLENN: And let me ask you this. Is there anyone in the sound of my voice that busted their boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse last week? Was anyone busting anyone else? I told you last week on Valentine’s Day that that is the big day for private eyes and busting people. Because Valentine’s Day is the day that you — oh, you’ve got to go get a gift. You’ve got to go — and so if you’re having an affair, you’ve got to go and, you know, get them a gift or be with them for a few minutes or whatever. And if your wife or your husband is suspecting that you’re cheating, this is the day that they follow you around. And women can just smell it on you. I mean, they just know. And guys are bad hiding it, you know? “You were working late today, honey.” “Yes, yes, I had a lot of extra work to do.” “You don’t have a job.” “Yeah, I was… I was working looking on a job. That’s what I was doing.” Yeah. “At 1:00 a.m.?” “Uh-huh — I mean, no. Crap.” I mean, just stupid guys. Did anybody catch anybody last week?

LOL, on guys having affairs.  It doesn’t matter what excuse they give, the wife always knows and always stays with them.
