Glenn Beck is awesome
My favorite show is Glenn Beck, both n the radio and TV. There was so much on his radio show and TV show yesterday. So, instead of just making seperate posts about some of these things, I will add excerpts from transcripts.
First I want to add his thoughts on the issue of Muslim-women only gyms at Harvard. Transcript on radio show.
Harvard caves to Muslim demands

The First Commandment
Description: A fast paced thriller about terrorists that is full of non-stop action and suspense.
Glenn’s Comments: An exciting read that kept him up half the night with its relentless action.
Right now up in England, over in England the MI5, which is their FBI, says they have police officers and basically FBI officers that are Al-Qaeda spies, that they have been infiltrated by Al-Qaeda. London, they are calling it Londonistan now. London is already flirting with Sharia law. It’s a totally different world and most people don’t even notice it. Most people don’t even see it. Now NYU, NYU is in some hot water with their students because their students just found out that NYU is making an Abu Dhabi campus of NYU and the students are saying, wait a minute, hang on just a second; how are you doing this, NYU? How are you doing this? The workers rights in Abu Dhabi are abysmal. I thought you were for socialism. I thought you were for workers rights. How about women’s rights in Abu Dhabi? Abysmal. I thought we thought women were fantastic. What about gay rights? Abu Dhabi? NYU doesn’t care because NYU can make money in Abu Dhabi. You have Harvard now. Whether or not they’re going to give in, I put money that they are going to give in because that’s what they do. At Harvard Muslims are saying they want times for Muslim-only women to go to the gym so non-Muslims wouldn’t be able to go to the gym. Kathy’s interruption; At first I was thinking this wasn’t such a big deal. I have heard that the “unisex” attitude at schools, K-12 and college, was something new in the 60’s or 70’s. But if it is only Muslim women than that is too far. It was all women seperate, that would be different. Why not? We’re making footbaths in other public universities. Why not? We’ve got footbaths for Muslims to say their prayers in airports! Why not? Why not?
Glenn goes on to talk about a business idea for these women.
A friend of mine wrote me this morning one of the best success stories in gym was Lucille Roberts. Lucille Roberts came to this country from Russia. Her family had escaped the Soviet Union. She started GYMS for women only…
… There’s a market for it. If there’s a market for Muslim-only GYMS, let the market prevail. [more here]
On his show last nite, Glenn Beck talked with Irshad Manji, about this issue. She is a well known outspoken Muslim woman. She speaks out against Muslim terrorism, Muslims wanting special rights and other things. She has been on Glenn’s show many other times. Here is a part of that conversation from last nite’s transcript.
BECK: The Associated Press is reporting that Harvard University has banned men from one of its gyms for a few hours a week to accommodate Muslim women, who say it offends their sense of modesty to exercise in front of the opposite sex.
It`s called Curves.
Not only does this policy discriminate against male students but male staffers, as well. During the hours, the gym has to be staffed by women only. Can you imagine anyone doing that if it was a sect of Seventh Day Christian Science Evangelical Lutherans? Never.
Irshad Manji is the director of the Moral Courage Project at New York University and author of “The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslim`s Call for Reform in Her Own Faith.”
Irshad, so good to see you.
IRSHAD MANJI, AUTHOR, “THE TROUBLE WITH ISLAM TODAY”: Thanks for having me back.
BECK: This is not — this — I mean, this should be left to the capitalist system.
MANJI: Look, Glenn, this episode at Harvard is actually emblematic of a bigger challenge that all democratic societies are facing today. And it can be summed up in one question: can open societies produce pluralists, people who appreciate multiple perspectives and truths, without producing relativists, people who will fall for anything if they stand for nothing?
And here`s the thing, Glenn. Both progressives and conservatives need to play a role in answering that question. Progressives at Harvard, for example, need to understand that Harvard has already accommodated Muslim students by designating special spaces in which they can pray uninhibited. So it`s not like Harvard needs to go further out of its way in order to prove that it`s not a bigoted institution.
But Glenn, conservatives also need to take some responsibility here. Because they`ve helped create an entitlement mentality among people at faith, because they`ve been pushing religion into the public square and into public policy so hard that all people of faith, not just Christians, Muslims now, too, begin to feel that they`re owed more and more. And you know what? We all have a possibility to share here.
MANJI: …So when a Jewish student genuinely feels like she can`t take a test on her Sabbath, her decision to reschedule that test doesn`t stop other students from taking the test at the appointed time.
MANJI: But when, of course, Muslim women say that, you know, they can`t work out in front of men, that, as you point out, displaces a whole group of people, especially — especially when they have paid full membership fees to go to that gym. So it is about choice without impinging on other people, even as you try to accommodate a group.
BECK: What kills me — 30 seconds — what kills me is isn`t this teaching sexism? Isn`t this Harvard reinforcing sexism? Isn`t your university, NYU, who is now building a campus in Abu Dhabi, enforcing all the things that they teach against?
MANJI: Simply by building a campus in Abu Dhabi, come on, Glenn. That is not, you know — and that is building bridges, my friend, OK? But you`re — but you`re absolutely right, you know, that we do have to again make that distinction between pluralism, which you and I very much embrace, and relativism. [more here]
In the first radio transcript I brought to you, Glenn Beck talks with Glenn Thor. He is a fiction author who is getting death threats, because his fiction book talks about terrorism. They talk about waterboarding and his book. Here is some of that interview.
Glenn working in the introduction to Brad;
Why force everybody at Harvard to do this? Oh, I remember, political correctness. One guy who I’ve got to tell you is not politically correct is Brad Thor. He is the author of a book called The Last Patriot which comes out in July and I want to talk to him about what we were just talking about. I also want to talk to him a little bit about, there was a veto over the weekend on waterboarding. Let me tell you something. Waterboarding, the only reason why congress did anything on waterboarding now is because it’s right up against the presidential election. They want waterboarding. And to quote Jack Nicholson, they need waterboarding. They want somebody to do it. They wanted George Bush to veto this so they could paint them like a hate monger and then they can come off smelling like roses. They know they can’t overturn the veto. There was no reason why they passed this in the first place.
They go on to discuss an email that Glenn wrote to him…
THOR: I read the whole thing and it’s funny because you wanted me to clarify some things in the book so people understood how serious this threat is and to delineate between fact and fiction on the book and I’m currently working on an afterword for the novel right now. It’s got to be done this week.
GLENN: Is that what you’re doing?
THOR: Yeah, it is.
GLENN: That’s fantastic because, you know, when I read it, I thought you’re Michael Creighton here on global warming except Michael Creighton only got a few death threats from, you know, a few environmentalist whack jobs. With what you’re writing as fiction, you’ve got to be really careful, my friend.
THOR: Yeah, I agree with you. I do have to be careful. We’re taking it seriously. But Glenn, at the end of the day if I hear the word “Change” out of politicians one more time and I know nothing’s going to come from any of them, I mean, how can I as someone who’s so concerned about the threat of Islamic extremism vote by guys who want to do suicide bomber belt and then guys who want to dismantle the Constitution peacefully, quietly from within this country, how can I not say something?
GLENN: I agree with you. I agree with you, Brad. I mean, it is time for good men to stand up and do something and say something, most importantly over doing something, saying something. I get it.
THOR: Glenn, all good men and women to come to the aid of their country, not their party. No more parties. It’s not about right and left in this country. It’s about right and wrong.
GLENN: Let me just take a few things. First of all, I know you’re an expert, if you will, on torture in the intelligence community because of what you do for a living. You have to understand torture, and we’ve talked about it in one of your last books, comes out. There’s — you’ve made yourself clear on a few torture things. Help me out on why, other than politics, would this bill come up and be presented to the President this last weekend, him veto it over the weekend?
THOR: Well, I think you hit the nail right on the head. This is a big thing people can, you know, they can stage mock waterboarding in front of the capitol and off the leftist weirdos in this country. Let’s get something straight. Waterboarding’s only been done to a couple of people, period. This is something that it’s an extreme interrogation technique that works. We’ve talked about this before. It’s not whether torture or not should be permissible in this country as Charles Krauthammer said. It’s when should it be permissible. I mean, we’re good people. You don’t have — these are CIA people who have been trained specifically to extract this information. They are not doing this for pleasure. They are doing this because they need the information and once they get the information, it stops. But if you knew that a bomb was going to go off in New York City, a nuke, you would want that stopped. If you had some guy there and “Pretty please” wasn’t working, then let’s step it up. [more here]
On both his radio show, Glenn talked about the lib media and Keith Olberman calling him the “Worst Person.”
Now, instead of me just telling you yet another example of how liberal blogs and most of the mainstream media could just care less about the truth, so long as the lie fits their agenda, tonight I want to show it to you. This latest example starts out last Tuesday night during my live Texas-Ohio election coverage.
I was speaking with evangelical pastor John Hagee. We were headed on into a break. And I asked the self-professed end of days expert about the fact that some of the “Book of Revelation” crazies out there actually believe that Barack Obama is the Antichrist.
Here it is.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: Let me ask you — and this is — because I got — I get so much e-mail on this, and I think a lot of people do. And I`ve only got a couple of seconds. And they say, Glenn, you in the media, you`ve got to wake up. Barack Obama is making people faint and cry and everything else, and he`s drawing people in. And there are people — and they said this about Bill Clinton — that actually believe he might be the Antichrist.
Odds that Barack Obama is the Antichrist?
JOHN HAGEE, EVANGELICAL PASTOR: No chance.
BECK: No chance.
HAGEE: He has a lot of charisma. There`s a media love affair with him right now. He is a very formidable political person.
BECK: All right. Pastor…
HAGEE: But I believe the best leader for America in the future is John McCain.
BECK: Thank you very much, Pastor.
Back in just a second.
That`s good news. At least where I stand. Good news.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: Well, it was good to know that Barack Obama is not the Antichrist. Welcome back to the program.
OK. Hopefully you noticed a few things about the clip. First, the entire premise of my question was that people e-mail this nonsense to me.
Step one is a liberal blogger becomes outraged at my comment. He then transcribes them and then sends them to a liberal Web site which, despite the eight research directors and associates listed on their site, immediately post an alert that conveniently leaves out any mention of the question`s setup or of the context.
“Today on his CNN Headline News show, Glenn Beck asked Pastor John Hagee whether Senator Barack Obama is the embodiment of evil.”
Wow. That`s funny. We just watched the whole video there, and I didn`t hear the words “embodiment of evil.” Did you? Nowhere in there. But that doesn`t matter, because once a liberal blog posts something, it`s a fact to the zombies.
Step two: The story is then leaked by the liberal blogger to a liberal Web site and it`s picked up by a bigger liberal Web site, and this one only took about one day for the blog Media Matters to put their own spin on the story. Here it is.
Step three: Now it`s time to take the leap from the liberal blogs to the mainstream media. Most people have known now for a while that Media Matters Web site I believe feeds directly into Keith Olbermann`s teleprompter. I`m not sure, but I think then he just reads it like a Disney animatronics robot. But if you ever doubted the connection, take a look at his “Worst Person in the World” segment from the night of the Media Matters alert…
…(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KEITH OLBERMANN, MSNBC: The bronze to Glenn Beck, asking his guest, John McCain`s pro-apocalypse televangelist, John Hagee, “They say, Glenn, you in the media, you`ve got to wake up. Barack Obama is making people faint and cry and everything else. And he`s drawing people in. There are people — and they said this about Bill Clinton — that actually believe he might be the Antichrist. Odds that Barack Obama is the Antichrist?”
Why do you ask, Glenn? Worried about somebody giving you competition?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: Notice how he never actually played the video of me asking the question. Isn`t that weird? I mean, Christ, that would have required some actual journalism and would have proven that the whole thing was done in jest. But it`s much easier just to use the transcript using a funny voice. You know, something that I`m sure that Olbermann`s hero, Edward R. Murrow, would approve of.
Did I just do it again? I just used sarcasm. I am so sorry.
So I could clarify for the blogs, Edward R. Murrow would have despised Keith Olbermann. Clear enough? [more here]
Glenn talked about how the lib media works on his radio program here.
At the beginning of his show last nite he addressed the Eliot Spitzer thing.
GLENN BECK, HOST (voice-over): Tonight a political bomb shell. New York Governor Eliot Spitzer linked to a high-profile prostitution ring. Details next.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
BECK: Well, hello America. I mean, just when you thought it couldn`t become more nuts, here it is.
According to “The New York Times,” which gave me pause, and I went, `Oh, it`s got to be wrong,” but he came out and admitted it, New York state Governor Eliot Spitzer has informed his most senior staffers about his involvement with a prostitution ring. Apparently, he`s — he`s known as client No. 9. I`m not kidding.
Here`s “The Point” tonight. People in glass houses shouldn`t really throw stones, with prostitutes or at prostitutes. First, let`s start with the videotape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GOV. ELIOT SPITZER (D), NEW YORK: I`ve acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and that violates my or any sense of right and wrong. I apologize, first and most importantly, to my family. I apologize to the public, whom I promised better.
I do not believe that politics in the long run is about individuals. It is about ideas, the public good and doing what is best for the state of New York. But I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself. I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family.
I will not be taking questions. Thank you very much. I will report back to you in short order. Thank you very much.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BECK: I think it would be a long time before my wife would trust me again. I`m just saying. [more here]
On Glenn’s radio show he talked about the hypocrisy of Al Franken.
If Glenn did THIS…

- N.Y. Slaps Franken with $25K Workers’ Comp FineOh, and one last thing and then I’ll take your phone calls. Love this one. Al Franken, you know he moved back to Minnesota. He wanted to run for the U.S. Senate. Now, here’s a guy who hates big companies. He hates these evil conservatives who just want to screw the little guy. “We need giant government to be able to take care of all of the poor little workers that are being screwed,” right? He goes back to run for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota. He leaves New York. It’s weird what a coincidence this was. He left in New York as the New York state workers’ compensation board, fined his personal corporation $25,000 for failing to pay workmen’s comp premiums from June 2002 to March 2005. He apparently wasn’t paying his workmen’s comp premiums during that time period for the little people and so they fined him, which is weird because it happened at the same time, you know, right before he left New York. She struggles was raised that to get what she wants and needs, work for it.
Her political views lean towards Fiscal Conservative. Believes the gubmint needs to get out of the way and let the free market work. As a person who listens to talk radio all day long, Glenn is my favorite guy on the radio, bar none. I used to say him and Michael Medved, but when Medved became a total shill for John McCain early in the primary process, facts be damned, he sort of ticked me off…lol
Glenn may not be the smartest man on, I’d have to give that title to Dennis Miller. But he has street smarts, he’s funny as can be, he’s a fantastic storyteller, and he’s a truly brave man. He takes on the media, the AGW crowd, and radical islam with abandon, at risk to his career and personal safety.
The fact that he drives the left nuts? Pure icing on the cake… My brother is a mid-life crisis lefty, and his son looks like a Glenn clone. I took a picture, realized it, mentioned it to him, and he about had a cow….lol
Hi Biker,
I listen to talk radio too, maybe not all day. Glenn is also my fave. Did you hear him talk about the Eliot Spitzer incident. I agree with him all the way on what he said. Rush said similar things. But with Glenn, it wasn’t a Republican verses Democrat thing. For Glenn, it was a morality thing. I am suspicious as to how Rush would have responded had Gov. Spitzer been a Republican.
I disagree on Glenn not being the smartest. I like Dennis, but I still like Glenn better. I like that Glenn does not play the Elephant against Donkeys games. He considers himself and American first.
LOL, about your brother’s son.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t putting Glenn’s intelligence down, he’s a very bright guy. He has street smarts as his strength though. Miller is a pure book smarts guy. You have to really pay attention to what he’s saying.
Yeah, Rush probably wouldn’t have gone after Spitzer as hard, but then, as obnoxious and arrogant as Spitzer’s made himself over the years, I dunno.
I’m going to watch Hannity tonight, he is going to have McCain on. I don’t normally watch him, but I’m curious as to how tough he’ll be on him.
BTW, look at my nephew and see if you don’t think he looks like a little Glenn…
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n93/kpmailman/Easter200738Large.jpg
I like Dennis Miller’s dry sense of humor. I’m one of those rare chicks who gets it and uses it.
OMG, your right about your nephew. I wonder if there’s any photos of Glenn when he was that age, floating around?
Glenn Beck is a fissparous element in American media. He is not credible and cares only for his ratings. That you lap up his lies and propaganda doesn’t say much for his isteners.
Do you even watch Glenn Beck? I don’t mean while channel surfing, stop for a few seconds, flip channel. I mean watch a few full episodes for at least a week. He is the only person on cable news who is non-partisan and tells it like it is. He doesn’t care if he offends Republicans or Democrats. Sompin tells me you are a politician. Only a politician could hate on Glenn Beck.
You folks are all victims. Angry, sad victims.
You are very correct. We are all victims. “We the (American) People” are victims of an over bloated egotistical gubmint. Are we angry? You bet your sweet bippy! Are we sad? Depends on what you mean. If you mean that we are sad for the direction that our country has gone, yes. If you mean sad in terms of pathetic, NO! What is pathetic is people who care more about Jon & Kate, Michael Jackson’s death or anything else in Hollyweird than what the poli-critters are doing in D.C., Lansing or your states capital.
You sad fucks.
Golly gee! From your comment, you really does sound like an “educated person.” So insightful. Full of information. I bet your mommy and daddy had to pay big bucks to send you somewhere like Harvard to be able to learn such wisdom so that you could use the reasoning that you have shown here. I hope they didn’t have to sell the “Beamer daahhling” to pay for your colladge edukation.
