Where Politics and Rockabilly Become Strangely Fused

I am a Ninth Cousin Twice Removed, with Lyndon Johnson

Damn am I glad I am drinking a beer right now. No, you did not misread the Subject of this post. Nor is it a drunken post. Just for fun, I thought I would click on “find famous relatives,” on Ancestry.com. Went through. Saw Lyndon Johnson. Beer ended up on computer screen. Literally LOL’d. Let’s see if the link will work. I know y’all don’t believe me, so here. I am also related to Katharine Hepburn and Sam Walton, of Wal-Mart fame. Not sure if they are related to Lyndon Johnson too. I will check on that and get back with y’all. This was just too funny to post on Michigan Redneck. I will prolly crosspost later. Why can’t I be related to Bohemian royalty or Jan Hus? I probly am related to Bohemian royalty, like that crazy prince that I can’t remember his name. Oh, maybe I don’t want Bohemian royalty or that would make me related to Barack Obama.

  1. Oh yippee!! Wrote the post before I even went through all my famous relatives. Now I have Woodrow Wilson as an eighth cousin seven times removed.

  2. remember – those are not accurate, and should be used for entertainment purposes only. I am currently elbow deep in a genealogy project on my family, and much of the “quick searches” are wrong… unless you can accurately track back that information, remember that it is most likely not correct…

  3. Yeah I know, it is still funny though. Actually, these possible relations are on my dad’s paternal side. Huge volumes of my grandfather’s family from both parents were written about before Ancestry.com even existed. Ya know, the South and all that. So where it shows my family line, to an alleged shared ancestor to said famous person is correct. Now as for the famous person’s connection to said ancestor, now that is a different story.
I have come across some “matches” in my tree. They are the correct person, but some of the information was just wrong. And somehow I think the other people changed the correct information in my tree. So you always need to look at your own tree every once in a while, to make sure info that you know for a 100% fact to be true does not get changed by heresay. If I enter info in my tree that I was told, but don’t have certain proof, and find someone who has different info on that person but same parents and kids, I will add the person, but use the other info as alternative til someone can prove which is correct.
