Michigan Redneck II

Politics, Music, Ron Paul and Libertarianism

Crying, Waiting, Hoping

Has it been almost a year since I last posted.  HOLY $%!( !  No seriously?  WOW!  Not only has things changed in that time, my life and the political arena, but now I am going have to figure out all these WordPress updates.

OK, now I am over myself.  Oh never mind, I am never over myself ;P .  Anyhoo, let’s get to a few things.  I had tried to be someone that I am not.  That made it difficult to be able to blog, what I really needed to say.  Y’all know that I love to sew.  And I had been trying to start up an alterations biz.  Well, I have great news on that front.  Business is really picking up!  YAY!  I have to use one of those appointment book thingies so I know who is coming and going.  No more jotting things down on a notepad with little kitties on the front.  I’m going big time now.  So that has been kinda taking up my time.    Still I need to work my other job, until I am sure I can have enough sewing jobs to make a living.  Not sure if I told y’all that I work on the nite shift.  But yeah, I do.  Some things have happened recently.  Cops had to get called.  Fun-fun.  A bit shook up.  But I need to vent.  If not the actual things, just an outlet, somewhere-anywhere.  This seems like just a good enough place as anywhere.  Also, I have been doing social networking in regards to my sewing business.  I have been getting a bit too political on my Twitter account.  Venting on Twitter about politics is not quite the best biz practice.  Oh yeah, I have gone about 2 months without a TV.  Word of advice; if you’re gonna vaccuum behind the TV, make sure you have disconnected the cable hook up.  Ooops.  Not that bad really.  There’s not that much to watch anyway.  FOX News has gone downhill since Glenn Beck left.  At first I had wondered how I would be able to blog without a TV.  But then I realized that I never really got too much of my info from TV anyways, it was basically background noise for when I was playing on the computer.  Oh, I gotta tell y’all about the new online music I have found.  I now listen to AOL Online Radio for my background music.  As you can guess, I have Rockabilly, Doo-Wop, 50′s Oldies, Frank Sinatra Style in my saved stations.  I listen to different ones depending on my mood and which type of sewing projects I gotta going on.  There is also LastFM.  The only music I really listen to there is Rockabilly Tag.  That totally rocks!  Not only is just music tagged Rockabilly, but they play more rarities of old skewl that ya just don’t hear anywhere else.  Plus they play modern stuff, Rockabilly and all-and-all out Psychobilly.  A great station if you just need a primal scream to release yourself!  So of course I will be bringing back Rockabilly After Midnite.  I have found some awesome “new” songs to share with y’all!  And of course the occasional Rockabilly Poetry.

Oh yeah, since the anchor of this blog is politics I will be getting back to that circus of life.  I guess there is some sort of Presidential election coming up next year.  Along with other elections.  President Barack Obama is running for re-election on the Dem side.  The Republican Party has a Primary going on.  Sorry, but I find it hard to get excited on that front.  I am having a hard time picking a favorite from the clown car being presented by the elephant circus.  Ya know that whole being burned from the last Primary.  I think I am leaning toward Ron Paul.  So look forward to some fun passive-agressive backhanded-compliment posts from me!  WHEE!

So to get to the title of this post; (Ah yes, a signature of mine.  Going roundabout to get to my point) For all o’ y’all who have been crying, waiting, hoping for my to come back I gots some Buddy Holly for y’all.

Y’all ain’t the only ones crying, waiting and hoping.  Hey, it’s not all about you.  I am crying, waiting, hoping for a lotta things too.  Like for the dipwads in Washington to put the people ahead of lobbyists and special interests; for them to stop ass-kissing to the enviro-whackos and social valuists (L@@K I just made up a word!).  For politicians to stop being hypocrites.  For a candidate who speaks his or her mind without worryng if it’s popular or not.

Well hell, it’s been so long, let’s do some double Rockabilly.  I got one for y’all who think you want me, need me and/or love me.  Well, are you lucky!  I gots some Elvis for you ;) .

  1. Not sure when I signed up for your blog, but your dead on about Fox going downhill. Dead on about no spark in the repubs. I think the media is misunderestimating Ron Paul this time around. He may not get the nod, but his supporters have definitely made their voice known.
Do you think GBTV is gonna be as good as Glenn becks 5 slot?
On the music front. check out a band called The bubblegum complex. It’s a shameful self-promotion from a fellow libertarian.

    • Hey thanks for the comment. I couldn’t stand that Greg Gutfeld on Red Eye. Now they give him that crappy Something 5 show in Glenn’s old spot. Yup, you’re right about the media and Ron Paul.
I haven’t checked out the GBTV yet. I tried watching the first episode. But my computer was being so slow, that I gave up.
I checked out The Bubblegum Complex. Not bad.

  2. Thanks for checking it out. That was my baby for a while. Another good band from Nashville to check out is The Carter Administration. “Pony up” is the good album. It’s real goodst. You might also like a band called the Clutters

    • Hey cool, thx 4 the great band suggestions. Reminds me a lot of living in Corpus Christi, Texas and seeing the live Psychobilly and punk bands. You from Nashville?

Hope you continue to check the blog for music, politics and libertarian thoughts. I have Rockabilly After Midnite coming up, dedicated to Ron Paul and his supporters. Hint; it will be a blast of a Psychobilly-Punk band that formed the same year as the Stray Cats.
